Port of Genoa: electrical and mechanical upgrades for a strategic international hub

Sinelec is involved in the implementation of electrical and mechanical systems as part of a major modernization of the Port of Genoa. The company will provide the technological infrastructure needed to enhance the operational efficiency of the port, including the construction of a new dry dock, a new fitting-out pier, and a new yard, implementing advanced systems for energy management, security, and technical services.

The project includes the installation of a new low and medium-voltage distribution network, transformer substations, lighting systems, BMS systems and power drive systems. For the mechanical part, the plan includes air conditioning systems, fire protection systems and networks for the management of technical gases and water resources.

The Port of Genoa is a crucial logistics hub in the Mediterranean, a key infrastructure for national and international trade. Its enhancement is essential to increase operational capacity, optimize freight flow management, and strengthen the competitiveness of the Italian economic system. The modernization of the facilities will help make the port more efficient and sustainable, adapting it to the needs of a constantly evolving sector.
