SINELEC for sustainability: people and environment first

Sustainability is a key component of the ASTM Group’s business model, of which Sinelec represents the technological arm. It is the path necessary to improve the company’s competitiveness while creating long-term value for all Stakeholders.

Sinelec wants to actively contribute to ASTM’s sustainability strategy, paying special attention to people, safety and the environment. Among the activities undertaken, it has introduced an integrated safety, environmental and quality management system that is certified and internationally recognized, and has promoted the adoption of strict procedures to ensure that employees, collaborators and suppliers adopt responsible and correct behavior, on a daily basis, from both an economic and ethic point of view.

The Group’s commitment is also reflected in the environmental aspect. By 2030, ASTM has pledged to reduce GHG Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 54 percent and GHG Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services from third parties by 11 percent, in order to limit global warming to 1.5˚C, in line with the targets outlined in the Paris Agreement.

Sinelec will support the achievement of these goals also incentivizing, for all the latest generation of fleet diesel cars, the use of HVO biofuel. In addition to the massive decrease in CO₂ levels, this fuel has cleaner combustion and enables up to a 90 percent reduction in the emission of harmful particulate matter.

A concrete step toward decarbonization and a more sustainable future, as pictured in the ASTM Group’s Sustainability Plan.
